- Working with "back-end" classes: Accessing and manipulating documents.

- Use of the "front-end" classes to manipulate the user interface.
- Interaction with the user (e.g., dialog boxes).
Error handling and debugging
- Using the LotusScript debugger for error analysis.
- Introduction to structured error handling.
Modularization and reusability
- Use of LotusScript libraries.
