After some waiting, the new HCL Domino version 11 is scheduled for release on December 04, 2019, and will address numerous detailed issues to significantly improve work processes with Domino® and Notes®.
Following the acquisition of selected IBM products by the Indian IT company HCL Technologies, work began on a comprehensive package known as HCL COLLABORATION SOLUTIONS. After a transition period, Domino® and Notes®, now in their latest version 11, are fully integrated into HCL. Here, we present some of the improvements in HCL Domino version 11.
One area of optimization concerns the installation of new programs, which should sometimes be automated. InstallAnywhere (Flexera) for Domino is a tool for this. Installations in HCL Domino® version 11 run intuitively via several modes, such as console mode or the graphical user interface (GUI mode). Domino® is also becoming more secure, and authentication processes for web users are more flexible with ID passwords (ID Vault mode). Many other changes have been implemented for an improved and expanded workflow.
Java™ is and remains one of the most versatile programming languages for running applications on computers and numerous other electronic devices. As part of HCL Domino version 11, the Java™ Runtime Environment (JRE) is available in several open-source variants, such as Eclipse OpenJ9 for HCL Domino Designer. The Just-In-Time (JIT) setting is retained and can be manually enabled or disabled.
Managing and organizing becomes easier with HCL Domino Version 11. Clear monitoring allows for better process control and tracking of developments. Renaming and copying directories is simpler, and improved directory synchronization (Microsoft Active Directory support) consolidates data. Renaming archives and managing databases and documents within the directory management system is easier. This streamlines internal workflows and simplifies communication with external partners.

The sheer number of enhancements and improved structures is substantial, making a closer look worthwhile for users. HCL Domino 11, in itself, represents a significant advancement; within the context of HCL COLLABORATION SOLLUTIONS, it creates an innovative overall package that is unparalleled.
