Project Eleven – Upgrade without worries
HCL Digital Solutions has launched the Project Eleven campaign . This campaign demonstrates to customers how to quickly update their existing infrastructures to the latest version of Domino and Notes, 11.0.1. Domino Server version 11.0.1 offers numerous advantages in practical use, significantly enhanced capabilities for developers (Nomad, Volt, AppDev Pack), and improved integration with existing backend services (Microsoft AD Integration, SAP Connector, HCL Enterprise Integrator).
The goal of the campaign is to provide a direct path to upgrade older (v10, v9) and old (v8.5 or earlier) versions to version 11.0.1.
Why upgrade? Many customers have existing software maintenance, regularly update fix packs, but don't take advantage of new major releases. We've often been able to convince our customers of the effectiveness of individual, targeted steps. For example, the new ODS53 file format (available from Domino and Notes 10) delivers significant improvements in stability, security, and performance for our customers. These measures run in the background and are immediately available on the server, independent of the existing Notes client installation – after a corresponding upgrade to version 11.0.1.
Our tried-and-tested checklists make upgrades plannable and allow them to be implemented using a clearly defined procedure.
Domino 11 makes applications available on mobile devices. Instantly and without further investment with HCL Nomad. New web applications can be created with significantly less effort than before, even without expertise, using HCL Domino Volt. Domino user management with Microsoft Active Directory finally becomes a reality. Benefit also from the integration of modern REST-based APIs and data exchange with JSON.
