With Domino 14.5.1 – positioned in the market as Domino 2026 – HCL is sending a clear signal: Artificial intelligence will become an integral part of the platform, without compromising security and data sovereignty.

The most important innovation is the further development of DominoIQ through RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation). This allows AI not only to analyze individual documents, but also to access entire Domino databases. For companies, this means well-founded answers based on their own business data – context-sensitive, up-to-date, and transparent. Knowledge management, support, and decision-making processes are thus elevated to a new level.

At the same time, a key advantage remains: all AI processes run within the company's own infrastructure. No data is transferred to external cloud services. This is a crucial competitive advantage, especially for regulated industries or organizations with high compliance requirements.

In addition to AI, Domino 2026 brings other important improvements:

Modernized user interface in the Notes client for improved usability and acceptance
Performance optimizations that noticeably accelerate existing applications
Automatic update functionality that reduces administrative effort and keeps systems securely up-to-date.
Enhanced integration options via modern APIs

A key business advantage: Existing Domino applications can continue to be used without complex migration and can be selectively enhanced with AI. Companies avoid costly replatforming projects while simultaneously achieving rapid productivity gains.

Domino 14.5.1 thus points in a clear direction: AI is not understood as an external service, but as a securely integrated core function. Combined with digital sovereignty, open architecture, and high cost-effectiveness, this creates a platform that enables innovation without relinquishing control.

For IT and business decision-makers, this is the crucial message: Modern AI doesn't have to come from the cloud – it can operate directly where the most valuable data resides.
